Welcome to Adult Sunday School
at Chapel in the Pines
. . . for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.
Psalm 107:9
When you come to Sunday school
hungry to learn more about the Bible,
you’re bound to leave happy.
Why do we say that? It’s simple. The apostle Paul tells us in his second letter to Timothy, “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work” (2 Timothy 3:16–17).
Week after week, those who attend the Chapel's adult Sunday school are happy and thankful for having appreciated the truth and importance of Scripture and strive to apply it to their lives. Hungry not only for the truth in God’s Bible, they are hungry for a relationship with God their Creator and Jesus their Savior.
Classes are held most Sundays, from 9:15 to 10:45 a.m., in “Building #1”, across the street from the Chapel sanctuary. During the 90-minute class, adult students start by meeting and greeting one another while enjoying tasty delectables, as you can see in the slideshow at the left, as well as on our Photo Albums page.
When the time for food and friendly greetings ends, everyone sits and joins in song-filled worship for a few minutes, accompanied by a motivational guitarist.
Prayer requests and praises are made next. Then, class instructors Tim Day
and Pastor Gordon Green
facilitate the teaching of God’s Word. Currently studying Apostle Paul's book of 1 Corinthians, the topics change frequently to keep studies fresh and invigorating.
If you’re curious about who God and Jesus are or you would like a comfortable and safe way to become introduced to the Bible, come in and join the class this Sunday at 9:15 a.m. Ask anyone for a complimentary Bible.
If you’re already familiar with the Bible but you’d like to “fill your spiritual hunger,” then join the class for fellowship, food, singing, prayers, and Bible study.
Still hungry?
If adult Sunday school class doesn't fully quench your spiritual appetite (Gee, could it really?), simply walk across the street with everyone, after class, to the Chapel sanctuary, and worship the Lord during a second service that starts at 11 a.m. As you enter the church, you'll quickly receive a warm welcome and begin to meet people. To get a good idea of all that the 11-o’clock worship service can provide, come worship at the Chapel this Sunday.
